Re: Directions
Tue, November 22, 2005 - 7:38 PMAssuming you are flying into San Jose...
if you fly in late at night you should get a taxi to hotel pinole in Alajulea... it is one kilometer from the airport, clean and safe (unlike san jose)... 15 dollers... if you come in early enough you can take the bus (cuz its cheeper than a taxi) ask the taxi drivers where is the bus stop... it is just around the corner from where they will all be trying to convence you to take their taxi... the walk is only 2 minutes from the crazy taxi drivers...
Get on the bus going to san Jose, and ride it all the way to the end... get off and ask a taxi driver how much for a ride to the MUSOC bus station... i cant remember but it is like 1000 calones 2 dollers... it is really close... and then find the ticket booth and buy a ticket for San Isidro Del General... bus leaves every hour... its like 2000 colones or something... 3 and a half hours later you will be there... if you make arangements with us we may be able to pick you up if it fits our timing... it is a 45 minute drive for us... taxis will be 8000 calones or 16 dollers... not a bad deal... we come to town for sure on thursdays for the farmers market... so that is a good day to meet up...
Stay in touch and let us know when you are comming... 506 363 1264
JoyUs
We currently have no shelters for the flood of beings comming... but the rains are stopping and we have tarps ready to be erected for a tarp village... we are trying to get electricity soon... and a road... But this place is Magical... almost better without that stuff... but if we are going to have all you down we should get you a refrigerator...
as far as things to bring...
bring a big tent if you are going to be staying for a while... it will help with the bugs and to create more of a space for yourself...
we need a chainsaw with a 2 foot long blade as well... if you feel up to the task of bringing ond down let me know and i will give you more details...
it is leagle and there are no costoms charges...
If you want to bring some goodies to share, like almond butter or fun stuff like that feel free...
dont bring choclate, cuz we make our own better anyway...
organic coco powder, coconut oil, and whatever else we want...
See you soon...
Remember our mission and prepair yourslef to elavate and be elavated untill there is nothing higher...

Re: Directions
Tue, November 22, 2005 - 8:51 PMHHMMMmmm! much gratitude for your post! THis answers some main questions I had about getting HOME, and TY for the hotel recommendation.
Don't know if you get my email Joyus, I've been having some techincal gliches with my emails on tribe, but in case no,
I am arriving in san jose on tues. evening, 11/29.
I can probably hang out around san jose for an extra day, and then meet you, what time do you guys go?
And the phone number, you have electricity in some areas?
Okay, and a couple more qu's:
For gardening, brother destino said to bring rubber boots. Shorter are more comfy and take up less room in the pack, but are taller boots more highly recommended?
Also wondering about clothes down there. Can I get nice natural beautifull threads down there inexpensively like in guatemala for example??
And quite importantly, I'd like your recommendation for dealing with money, carrying and storing.? A friend told me that was always a tricky decision for her, although a little scary, she tends to just bring all her cash with her.
peace, love, and Light,
Nikki

Re: Directions
Fri, November 25, 2005 - 6:11 AMsome good questions...
Dont bring rubber boots... there are lots down here and cheep...
Good socks are nice to bring...
Remember to bring Nice Big tents... you wont regret it...
We have a house next to the farm that has a electricity, and a fiidge.... I have a cell phone... thats it... there is water on the land from springs...
we will be able to get electricity to the farm quick once the rainy season is over we think... Less than one month... ?
there are no costa rican cloths like guatamala... but i have seen some decent fabric...
Advice, bring your own fabric and we can make cloths...
It is mostly perfict temp day and night and sometimes need to wrap a shawl or somthing long sleeve...
Headlamps are good...
There are plenty of ATM machienes for money... dont carry much money... and better to keep it on you, not in a purse...
You NEED to have your passport or copy with copy of visa stamp on you at ALL TIMES... the police crack down sometimes and will hall you off to san jose if you do not have it or your 3 month visa is overdue...
Look forward to seeing you... we come to town on Thursdays for the farmers Market... San Isidro Del General (town)... other than that you may have to take a taxi, or the Bus that runs close to us and we can try to make a pick up on the dirt road... Let us know a couple days ahead of time... we may be comming to town... 363 1264....
Jai Ma, JoyUs
Clairafying directions... when i said to take a Bus to san Jose... The airport is 25 minutes out of san jose in a town called Alajuela... So you take the local bus to the end of its route in san jose and then get a taxi to MUSOC bus station, to catch the Bus to San Isidro Del General... -

Fri, November 25, 2005 - 9:07 AMJOYUS, feelin SOOoOo happy and supported to see your post here!
MMmmm, THank you, much gratitude! This is my first time in Costa Rica,
and I am starting to get more excited- it's so helpful to have these tips...
I talked to Tenasi, told him that I could plan to be in San Isidro by next Thurs., if you will be there. So, basically, arrive next tues (so soon!), hang out in san jose for a day on wednesday, and then leave on thurs. morning.
Less than a week!
do you have a sewing machine, or some thread making skills?
That could be lovely! Don't know how to much, to which I laugh ever so slightly at myself, because ALL the women on my mom's side are seamstresses and tailors and so i grew up around that. My grandma is 77 and can still whip out like five skirts in an hour like a mad artist!
if you have a request for fabric, color or type, perhaps I can provide.
Look forward to seeing you too- my inner child is feeling gleeFull!!!! Yeaaayyy!
Love LOve Love.!....:)!!!!!!! -
