Namaste' (this is a letter i wrote to a woman questioning about veganism and violence being a priority in community)

Violence, Diet, Self and Heaven

We are still a new, forming community... though the land has been here for a long time being held for the right people come along and fufill the highest vision...
I have 8 workers who eat meat, and these workers are more than just workers, they are part of the community... during the last three months I have been the only non-costa rican living on the land, planting trees during the rainy season... the other community members are making money in the states so they can bring $$ to contribute... My community has been these workers... I am not about to say that these people who work for me are not a part of the community, twas I who moved into their community with my visions and money and now provide good jobs... I would love to educate them and provide oppertunities to try different foods. But its sensitive, i have a good history from learning from my mistakes... and I have learned the hard way. whenever i try to change somebody, i have an idea in my head that i 'know' something that they 'need', to be 'better', 'healthier' or 'whatever', for a better world or some egoic ideas... and this idea that i 'know' whats better for someone in itself is violence... Because its not love... Love is total accptence and surrender to the will of spirit, good bad and ugly... And although i would love for all beings to live in perfict harmony with the earth, death is a part of life... everytime i go on a walk in the jungle, hundreds of bugs have to die... Is that concerderd violence? or is it more a part of the cycle of life and death? And thus Natural?

I aspire to non-violence in thought and action... I do not need to kill animals to nourish my body, and i do not need to think there is somthing 'wrong' with you if you do...

I can teach about healty lifestyle and diet, a well as healty psychology...
But shall not rest my happieness on converting the world to my ideas, openions or religon...

Desirelessness, the only prerequsite to live in the Heaven within...
try it for some time... let go of all you want, even just as an experiment... then share your experience here...
