Who Am I?
Simple answer... I exist, this I know... For something to be Real it must be constant... Unchanging... Thus all the parts of me beyond, the sence that I Am, or I Exist must be illusion, changing all the time... My body, mind, emotions, opinions, desires, fears, imiganition and all that changes is not who I AM...
I am the witness of these changes... the field of Awarness in which all these changes occur... beyond being affected by these changes, there is all prevading sence of Peace, Joy and Bliss...
When you experience anything but this Peace it is a telltale sign that you have mistaken yourself for your personality and desires, rather than your true identity...

Am i able to jump into the screen into the actor and play out senarios and fanticies with any control? There is no control to be had over a movie that you watch on a screen, but if you know its a movie there will be detatchment and peace... Once you step out of the illusion of control over the movie you will find that place of Unconditional Peace and Joy, the movie goes on but you no longer believe yourslf to be in it... At that point why would you ever want to jump back into the illusion, searching for happieness fufilled by sensual or emotional desires... Once you see the personality as a product of conditioning, a instrument to seek out pleasure and avoid pain, you would no longer be fooled by its endevors...
I know its scarry, giving up your desires.... your mind will use any means to try to find a loophole to avoid letting go of its reality (illusions)... but you should know what you trade for this material/emotional persuit of happiness... You trade Your True Identiey, unconditional fufillment, and BLISS...
If you can quiet your mind just for a few minutes you will see what disrupts the peace of meditation is always desire and fear... But you must have a taste of this peace to value it, and also to see that desires and fears are what rip it from you...
An instant way to find this peace of meditation, even if its for a few seconds is to be disinterested in your mind... just tell yourself that you have nothing to ponder for the next 20 seconds, no fears to plan escape from or desires to move toward... totally disinterested from mental activity, you will come into the present... Let go of any effort beyond resting in the feeling, the sence, that "I AM" or I exist... these words may help but it is the pure feeling of existing that is important to contact... it is alwayse here for you, for without it you would not be...

Mon, November 14, 2005 - 1:39 PMI used to feel like i was a particapant, even co-creator of life and was filled with so much love i took on the name JoyUs... Then threw the words of my most potent teacher i realized who I AM... Untill you can step away from the movie, even if it is about love and beauty for a few scenes (as long as your not looking at earthquakes in packastan, wars, dwindleing oil supplies, global warming, tsunammis, hurracanes, poverty beyond measure,etc)
The mind with its definitions of Love, Beauty, God is still an instrument with limited perspective... Limited to concepts... Once we are free of our concepts and conclusions about being 'this' or 'that' we can Be Free of Defining Creation while creation continues to flow...
Just cuz you give up the idea that you are your personality or role in creation dosent mean that you no longer exist... Its more like you Exist on a level that is Real insted of self imposed by the mind...
Its funny that people have a fear of letting go of desires and identifing with their mind and personality because they think it will be the death of Full Experience... That is not true... Its just the death of the prison the mind creates with its concepts, conclusions, opinions, desires and fears...
Real Experience... words fail at this point...
give it a try your experience will validify with a little sincere effort...

Tue, November 15, 2005 - 2:46 PMhas anyone ever been to a vipasana silent retreat? i strongly recomend it! about the silence though; one part is that you vow not to tell a lie, the other is that you are not able to share you experience and not able to be influenced by others experiences. there is something important about that, that you learn for yourself. even if it doesn't happen this lifetime? where do you draw the line between guiding and sharing and letting people find it for themselves who they are? -

Wed, November 23, 2005 - 8:57 PMThis is a concept that has just recently came into my life. A friend of mine has introduced me to Sri Nisaragadatta Maharaj, Hawkins, Tolle and Deida. They all talk about awareness and not recognizing anything as seperate from yourself. We are all one and yet we are nothing at all. Anything the ego places before us (which is everything) is not real.
"Nothing real can be threatened, Nothing unreal exists, Herein lies the peace of God" - A Course in Miracles.
This concept has been a bit for me to chew on, it is so deep, yet so simple. The "idea" that to live in complete harmony is to live for God. Anything that comes between you and God is disharmonious which in effect creates death.
Sure it seem alright to think of material items as an interference between you and God and any preception you have of these items creates boundaries. However to think like this for say a loved one is pretty radical. The idea that once you place an emotion (your ego working it's magic) on something or someone, say your children, such as happiness you are disconnecting yourself from God, which in essence is hell.
You say "I am happy to have this beautiful family and this wonderful life, I have everything I want"...to say that you have just created hell, or seperation between you and God.
So what do we do? Well to sort of reflect what Joyus has stated. You just surrender to God/dess. Give yourself to the Divine and you will be guided to where/who/what/when you need to be/do/have/create/follow.
It's pretty radical to think that if everyone did this, how chaotic would the world be. I think it would be beautiful "chaos", only because chaos is a state of mind from societies programming, that is filtered through our ego. Therefore it is another tool to keep us away from God and the work to be done.
Anyway I have actually not read much of any text by the authors above, mostly just from what I have heard. The rest I am sort of dissemenating myself through meditation and intuition.

Wed, November 30, 2005 - 7:05 PMI just want to add the fact that there is absolutely nothing wrong with loving your family, your wife, your children, even your country. However, that being said, there are different ways of doing so: there is a difference between unconditional love and that which we might call personal love. If one acts out of unconditional love (which does not mean to treat everyone the 'same' or be 'nice' even if someone is being unethical, but to act out of the love that arises from the place of the higher self, or unity consciousness, if you will) he/she would act in the interests of the 'higher' self no matter what, as opposed to acting from personal love, which would signify an action which is colored by attachments, personal desire, etc. Furthermore, if one is moving along the spiritual path, there may be a progression towards less personal love and more unconditional love. No stage on that path however is any 'better' or 'worse' than any other - if you feel the need to hold on to some personal love, how can anyone else tell you it is wrong (as long as it does not hurt anyone else)? It is your own free will to choose your own consciousness.
There can be a kind of desireless desire, which is that desire that is unified with the higher self (which might also be called the desire that comes from the mind of god/unity consciousness). When we expand our consciousness, we may join with the higher desire I speak of. I am not in agreement that all desire leads one away from god/unity consciousness. It depends on the source of the desires you speak of. However, one must be careful to really check in and discern the true source of said desires. It is here however that we may get lost in words, because having this 'desireless desire' may also just be called uniting with the 'will of god' - though it would also not be wrong to call it a form of desire that is in harmony with the desire of god. Some might say god has no desire, god just is. But this is all semantics - its really beyond words. As long as you get the gist. -

Wed, November 30, 2005 - 7:10 PMAn addendum - having an emotion is not separating you from god, but HOLDING ONTO said emotion can - if your goal is to let the current of the divine flow through you, then a good analogy is that of thinking of it like running water - if you try to hold on to/plug up a current, it no longer flows. The same with emotions/thoughts - if you let them flow as they may, there is peace and flow. If you react to them, try to foster them, suppress them, etc., there is turbulence. We are human after all - our bodies will not physiochemically allow the absence of emotion. It is how we respond to these emotions that influences the quality of our consciousness. -

Fri, December 2, 2005 - 6:49 AMi feel there is only one love. we are all soul mates. we are each unique expressions of this love. unconditional love is when you respect everyone's individuality. try not to judge right/wrong. everyone is doing their best with what they know. we are different levels of consciousness. let them be without trying to change them. dont expect, need, depend, or be attached to anything or anyone. be free. dont be selfish, want what is best for everyone. the universe will provide what is in everyone's best interest and all you really need. when you get emotional step out of the drama and let your higher self control your reaction. we create our reality by what we feel is true and real. energy flows where attention goes. we attract people and situations that resonate with our vibrations. when we share conscious awareness we can raise vibrations. enough people can imagine and feel a vision, form a collective consciousness bigger than themselves, send that thought form out and manifest a new experience of reality and create quantum leaps in the process of evolution. don't expect an exact out come but trust everything is perfect just the way it is. -

If true Fufillment does not come from fufilling desires or pleasure of the sences and mind, why would we invest any energy into fufiling pleasurable desires... When we know that our true Fufillment and True Happieness does not come from their fufillment? (i hope this makes sencse)... If we really knew the source of unconditional fufillment desires of the world become traps of illusion...
So we kinda have two types of people... One is the person who goes about the world looking to fufill desires and whos happieness is dependent on getting what he she want...
The other person usually did enough of the cycle of pain and pleasre cycle to see that chasing desires to their fufillment or un-fulfillment is a viscious cycle and thus wanting something more unconditional... this person usually starts asking 'who am I', 'what is true happieness', 'what is Real' and such... Thus the person becomes a seeker of the Truth... And this is Grace... Because it is not common for someone to spend much effort questioning everything they have been led to believe... Its Scarry... But the person is frustrated with the world sufficiently to ask the questions and to look witin with some ernestness... This is the Key... Not just a social debate about who am I, but a genuine search...
This is where it takes words to guide the lost mind... and who is of athority to give those words? Someone who IS THERE... Thus a teacher is needed... But depending on the thick headedness of the student not much instruction is needed...
Desirelessness, the HIGHEST BLISS...
If your teacher told you this and you did not experientially try it out, only mentaly rationalized the falsness of it, you have thick headed karma... its not 'bad' to have thick headed Karma, its just that you want to hold on to the false stronger than you want to let go of the false and thus experience the REAL... The HIGHEST BLISS...
Why would you sacrafice BLISS for the temporary pleasure from fufilled desires?
enough said... Hold on, or Let Go... (actually the decision to hold or let go may not be in your control anyway, or even the ability to accept what IS... George Bush as an example)

Fri, December 2, 2005 - 1:38 PMYes, but you can still act out of higher desires - those unified with that of god's will - WITHOUT the need for fulfillment - only the desire to act in a certain way, regardless of whether the goal is reached or not. This does not keep one from being fulfilled - on the contrary, it aligns one with the divine. This desire to be close to god is a beneficial one on the path towards self-realization. Ultimately, it is said that even this desire is overcome, and one simply IS doing the will of the divine, without desire (reference kabbalistic teachings, and others). There are a succession of stages you must be aware of, and not be hard on yourself for not being 'perfectly desireless' all at once. Even many great masters such as Jesus give indications (at least by the surviving written accounts) of having desires - however noble and god-driven those desires might be. To be completely desireless might be your final goal, however it would be rash and judgemental to say that someone that still pursues desires is 'thick-headed', especially without considering the types of desires they pursue (i.e. the desire to join with god), and whether they are attached or not to the outcomes, as well as a host of other factors. The desire to have no desire, even, is one that must be experienced, if only for a short time (or long) before the attaining of no-desire-ness is reached. It is a paradoxical world, with paradoxical paths.

And i have to crack up at the pride i hear coming thru our words (yes mine too) at how conscious we've become, when really its all moving thru us. Its God, not i who is conscious, and sometimes i get out of the way to experience that, and well, sometimes i don't.
Whomever is the most conscious of us, is the one who is the servant to us, right? And its all God.
I forget this a lot. I say it all to remind myself the most!

Everythign we truely desire is energy (spiritual light) of GOD . The purpose of the energy is to remove our limitations and give fufillment .
Our true desire is is the FUEL to fufillment .
our desire to be on our spiritual path , as human beings , the desire to know the TRUTh and be free from the desire is high desire and we all have this flowing through us naturally as human beings .
we also have the lower desire which I think is the 2nd type of person Joyus spoke of . it is not desire aligned with the light , but are the desires of self only . some may say selfish and ego centered(fuel for the ego0 which does not bring true fufillment , actually since it is energy can be transformed through recognition and elevate the consciousness . So yes it all flows together , as we are perfect , where we are supposed to be on our path to the Ultimate Light as One .
I feel most of us here reading this are quickening towrdsthe Ultimate Light due to the collective consciouness as a whole being raised .

If you think there is the mind is a sufficient vehicle to impose meaning on the universe, please post your definitions for these words that we use all the time... (but whos true meaning is so far beyond the mind)

Thu, December 8, 2005 - 5:39 PMall spiritual guides that use these terms, is it all a product of their imagination/mind? did they create a collective consciousness and manifest experience just to improve our quality and experience of life on earth. and when we die do you think we continue to experience this collective consciousness as souls and spirits or as people here on earth with minds, do we create these apparitions? we are energy, so when our body and mind dies, does our energy have a consciousness? how does energy create? is it just random with no intention? i know there is no real value in understanding all this, just curious. -

Fri, December 9, 2005 - 8:09 PMMy truth is my truth . as we all have our own , as I feel we all are part of the same truth , just have perspectives diffrently and express these things in our own unique way and form through our vehicle , as the witness .
sometimes we forget how powerful of a force of everchanging enrgy we all are a part of , the ultimate light i call the creator , always in creation .
When you have the personal understanding of who you are at a soul level of being using the brain a small amount to put the feeling into words is how we arrange our own inner truth as humans with brains .
i have tapped into enormous potential with small use of my brain and large amounts of my creative being combined , which is yes already there as potential and creativity here in my universe , I do not id myself with my brain or what percieve , there are some of us in body form that travel within and without and have access to places here that are far greater and more free because we are able to break free from the chains of the brain and false perceptions .

Sat, December 10, 2005 - 10:10 AMi am here too. sometimes as an observer, observing my intentions to create, sometimes as a be-er, experiencing my manifestation with awe, sometimes as a contemplater following the process. as conscious energy spontaneously creating, the only constant is change, even the energy i am is changing, hopefully raising vibrations. that is my intention, to be the energy of love. and share with others to grow. -

as with all the other portals, your true nature remains, but not the personality. in any case, whatever is real or of true value in your personality is your true nature shining through.
